straight pipe
Straight pipes are often recommended to novice smokers on the pretext that they won't produce any moisture. This is not entirely accurate, as moisture can come from many factors other than the shape of a pipe. The choice of a straight pipe will essentially be based on a preference for one shape over another, rather than on any particular advantage that this shape might provide. For example, a straight pipe will be heavier in the mouth than a curved pipe of equivalent weight, and should therefore be taken into account by smokers who hold the pipe in their mouth.
